Dear St. John’s,
I am sad to inform you that a beloved, long-time member of St. John’s, Willian Chovan, died on January 13th. I became aware of this early this morning. He died peacefully at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville.
William and his wife Martha were very active at St. John’s and will be dearly missed by our community. William was 97. If you didn’t know him well, a link to his obituary is below. He is survived by his son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, several grandchildren, a dear cousin, and many, many friends. They are in my prayers, as are each of you who knew and loved the Chovans.
Almighty God, we remember before you today your faithful servant William; and we pray that, having opened to him the gates of larger life, you will receive him more and more into your joyful service, that, with all who have faithfully served you in the past, he may share in the eternal victory of Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
