Shelter from the Storm: Learning from Community Table

As part of St. John’s ongoing project, Shelter from the Storm: Responding to Housing Injustice through Resilient Community Collaboration, we welcome Steve Steen (he/him), Operations & Food Pantry Manager for Community Table, for a special presentation and conversation.

Steve will share about the work of Community Table in Jackson County, including how the organization addresses food insecurity and supports neighbors facing economic hardship. He will also discuss what he has learned about the barriers to safe and adequate housing in Sylva and Jackson County, the realities of poverty in our community, and the importance of building resilient networks of care and support.

Join us as we learn more about the challenges our neighbors face and explore how community collaboration can help create pathways toward greater stability, dignity, and belonging for all.
